Bring your quilt to life with expert finishing touches that showcase its unique beauty

Whether you’re looking for an edge-to-edge design or custom quilting, I’m here to collaborate with you and ensure your quilt is finished to perfection.

Prepping for the Perfect Finish

  • Quilting is where your project truly comes to life! Together, we’ll select the perfect design to complement your quilt top.

    • Edge-to-Edge Quilting: This popular option repeats the same design across the entire quilt, creating a cohesive and polished look. With thousands of computerized edge-to-edge patterns to choose from, we’re sure to find the perfect match for your masterpiece.

    • Custom Quilting: Custom quilting takes your project to the next level by tailoring designs for specific blocks, sashing, and borders. While this level of detail requires more time and cost, the results are truly one-of-a-kind. I’m currently perfecting my skills with family and friends’ quilts and look forward to offering this service soon.

  • Pricing is based on the size of your quilt and the complexity of the design. Here’s how to estimate your costs for services:

    1. MEASURE YOUR QUILT

Multiply the length by the width of your quilt top to find the total square inches.

    Example:
    60 x 70 quilt = 4,200 square inches

    2. APPLY THE RATE

    Basic Edge-to-Edge Designs:
    $0.020 per square inch

Medium or Complex Density Edge-to-Edge Designs:
    $0.025 per square inch

    Minimum Charge: $60

    Example:
    60 x 70 quilt with a medium-density pattern = 4,200 square inches x $0.025 = $105

  • To ensure the best results, it’s important to properly prepare your quilt top, backing, and batting before dropping it off.

  • Press and Secure Seams:
Ensure all seams are pressed flat and secure. Clip any loose threads on the front and back to prevent them from shadowing lighter fabrics.

    Avoid Stretching:
Press carefully to avoid puckers or distortion.

    Border Tips:
Use the “divide and conquer” method:

    1. Measure the middle of your quilt and cut borders to this length.

    2. Pin borders every 4-6 inches, working from the middle outward, to prevent stretching while sewing.

  • Size Matters:
Backing should be 4–6 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides to ensure it can be properly secured to the long-arm machine frame.

  • Size and Selection: Batting should also be 4 inches larger than the quilt top on all sides. If you’re unsure which batting to choose, I’m happy to help you select the best option for your project.

I currently carry the following batting options:

    • Hobbs 80/20 Heirloom Blend

    • Hobbs Tuscany Cotton/Wool (my favorite!)

    • Hobbs 100% Wool

    • Hobbs 100% Cotton

    • Winline Bamboo

    • Winline 80/20

    • Warm & Natural Warm and Plush

  • If you’re unsure about any part of the preparation process, don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether it’s about pressing seams, choosing batting, or prepping your backing, I’m happy to guide you through the steps. Your quilt’s success is my priority, and I’m just a call or a text away!
